About the role:
An exciting opportunity exists for a passionate Chef to join Uniting AgeWell in a casual role, working across multiple aged care sites in Melbourne’s eastern suburbs, including Forest Hill, Camberwell, Hawthorn, Box Hill, and other locations as required.
In this role, you’ll deliver high-quality, nutritious meals that enhance the daily lives of our residents. Key responsibilities include:
- Planning, preparing, and presenting meals that meet individual dietary needs, including supplements and texture-modified foods
- Ensuring compliance with food safety standards and HACCP procedures
- Managing stock, ordering supplies, and minimizing waste
- Maintaining kitchen hygiene and cleanliness
- Collaborating with care staff to meet residents’ preferences and nutritional requirements
- Occasionally engaging with residents to improve their dining experience

About you:
This is the place for you if you have:
- Hold a Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent).
- Have experience in a Residential Aged Care kitchen environment (ordering, budgeting and rostering)
- Have worked with specialised diets, including supplements and texture modified foods
- Fully conversant with HACCP and food safety legislation
- Thrive in a team and also appreciate the one to one interactions
- Are committed to being part of a workplace culture based on the BEST way of life (Believe, Excel, Support and Trust)
Essentials for working in Aged Care:
- A current Working With Children Check card
- Current and ongoing flu vaccinations
- Australian working rights
- Ability to pass a national police clearance and NDIS Clearance
