Make a genuine difference every day as a Personal Care Worker with Uniting AgeWell
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver exceptional, person-centred care that respects each resident's unique preferences, cultural background, spiritual beliefs, and individual needs.
- Provide compassionate support to residents with complex care requirements, including dementia care, palliative care, restorative care, and pain management, helping to enhance their comfort and overall wellbeing.
- Work closely with nursing staff to support resident assessments, contribute to care planning, maintain accurate documentation, and monitor care outcomes.
- Help create a safe, welcoming, and comfortable environment by monitoring cleanliness and safety standards and promptly reporting any concerns.
- Build meaningful relationships with residents and their families, providing emotional support and contributing to a positive living experience.
- Recognise and respond to changes in residents' health and wellbeing, ensuring observations and concerns are escalated appropriately to support quality care outcomes.
About You:
You'll thrive in this role if you have:
- A Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing) or an equivalent aged care qualification.
- Previous experience working in residential aged care or home care (highly regarded).
- Experience supporting older people living with dementia and those requiring palliative care (highly regarded).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with residents, families, and colleagues.
- The ability to remain organised and responsive in a fast-paced environment while delivering compassionate, high-quality care.
- A collaborative approach and a genuine commitment to supporting residents' wellbeing, dignity, and quality of life.
- The confidence to identify and report changes in residents' health and wellbeing, contributing to safe and effective care outcomes.
- Are committed to being part of a workplace culture based on the BEST way of life (Believe, Excel, Support and Trust)
Mandatory Requirements
Applicants must have, or be willing to obtain:
- Working with Children Check (Employee)
- Ability to pass a national police clearance and NDIS Clearance
- Up-to-date vaccinations in accordance with Uniting AgeWell's Vaccination Policy
- Full Australian working rights
