About the role:

Our dedicated Care Team at our Strathdon community in Forest Hill, are looking to add passionate Personal Care Workers to join our team on a fixed term 6 month basis.  

We currently have the following fortnightly shift patterns available:

07:00am to 13:30pm:

• Wednesday, Thursday, Friday & Saturday (Both weeks)
• Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday (Both weeks)

07:00am to 15:00pm:

• Thursday & Friday (Week 1) & Thursday, Friday & Saturday (Week 2)

14:45pm to 21:00pm:

• Thursday, Friday & Saturday (Both weeks)

21:45pm to 07:15am:

• Sunday, Monday and Tuesday (Both weeks)
• Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday (Both weeks)

At Uniting AgeWell, Personal Care Workers co-ordinate personal care for residents in accordance with care plans which meet their individual needs and preferences. Working within a multidisciplinary team, provide effective clinical and emotional support to residents, recognise changes in residents’ conditions and escalate observations and concerns.

In this role you will:

• Deliver high quality, person centered care to residents and families, including consideration for cultural, spiritual and individual needs
• Provide personal care to residents with complex needs such palliative care, dementia support, restorative care and pain management to enhance their wellbeing
• Support nursing staff regarding assessment, care planning processes, documentation and evaluation of care outcomes
• Monitor the cleanliness, safety, environment and promptly report issues of concern

About you:

This is the place for you if you have:

• Certificate III in Individual Support, or equivalent (Aged Care)
• Experience in residential aged care/ home care (desired)
• Experience with dementia care and palliative care support (desired)
• Demonstrated abilities to support residents in a fast paced environment with exemplary communication skills in a team and one on one interactions with all levels of care partners
• Are committed to being part of a workplace culture based on the BEST way of life (Believe, Excel, Support and Trust)

Essentials for working in Aged Care:

• A current Working With Children Check card
• Current and ongoing flu vaccinations
• Australian working rights
• Ability to pass a national police clearance and NDIS Clearance
