About the role:
Be an integral part of the team at Uniting AgeWell Strathdevon in Latrobe, offering person centred care to our residents.
Provide care to residents with complex needs such as palliative care, dementia support, restorative care and pain management, a level one registered nurse is responsible for a level of administrative responsibilities, including:
Deliver high quality nursing skills to residents and support their families, with consideration for cultural, spiritual and individual needs
Complex needs require following skillsets
catheter management incl. catheterization
palliative care incl. syringe driver management
wound management
identification and escalation of clinical deterioration
strong documentation skills with knowledge of ANACC
Provide leadership, support, orientation and education to Enrolled Nurses and Extended Care Assistants
Promote a harmonious team approach by acting as a role model in coordinating daily routines and adhering to safe practice measures in medication management
Permanent opportunities working 9.45pm-7.15am
Minimum commitment 4 shifts/week
About you:
You are passionate about what you do and want to make a difference in the lives of our residents to support them to live life to their potential!
Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse Div 1
Experienced as a registered nurse in residential aged care/ home care (preferred)
Experience with dementia care and palliative care support (desired)
Proficiency in decision making, critical analysis and on the spot problem solving
Demonstrated abilities to delegate and prioritise in a fast paced environment with exemplary communication skills in a team and one on one interactions
Thrive in a team and also appreciate the one to one interactions
