About the role:
Exciting opportunity at Uniting AgeWell Strathdon, to provide spiritual and pastoral care to residents and their families.

Our Chaplains work as integral members of the interdisciplinary care team, including contributing to the holistic care model at leadership level at the Residential facility. As a UA Chaplain, and at Strathdon, you will need to have a strong understanding of contemporary professional spiritual care and be capable of working autonomously as well as in the chaplaincy team, and wider multi-disciplinary team. There is good support from the Spiritual Care Manager and networking opportunities other Chaplain colleagues.
As a UA Chaplain you will be responsible for:
• Individual spiritual and emotional care for residents and their families
• Spiritual Care Assessments/Review, and regular electronic documentation relating to spiritual and religious needs.
• Leading of worship
• Connecting with spiritual leaders from a variety of faith backgrounds as needed
• Small group work
• Offering guidance /education to staff, regarding spiritual care
• Participation in key meetings on site: Welcoming, Quality, Palliative and Comfort Care etc.
• Active participation in Chaplaincy Network with other UA Chaplains in Victoria and Tasmania
About you:
• Compassion, initiative, genuine interest in enhancing the life and wellbeing of people as they age
• An ability to identify, assess, and provide for the emotional, spiritual and religious needs of residents, in line with the Australian Aged Care Quality Standards and UA Spirituality Framework
• CPE (Clinical Pastoral Education) - minimum 1 unit or an equivalent training and experience in pastoral care.
• Formal theological qualification/s preferred
• A Commitment to work within and promote the ethos and values of the Uniting Church
• An ability to work respectfully and constructively as part of both chaplaincy and multi-disciplinary teams.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
