About the role:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Chef to join our aged care facility on a full-time basis, working Monday to Friday, 9:30am – 5:30pm.

The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing nutritious and delicious meals for our residents, with a strong focus on Asian cuisine, baking, and desserts. A passion for creating wholesome meals in a caring environment is essential.

 Previous experience in aged care or a similar setting is highly regarded.

• Planning, ordering and preparing meals in a way that will enhance the resident’s dining experience, in line with all specialised diets, including supplements and texture modified foods
• Ensure a high level of compliance with all food safety guidelines and HACCP procedures
• Prepare baked goods and desserts with attention to quality and presentation
• Collaborate with care staff to support residents’ nutritional needs

About you:

This is the place for you if you have:

• Hold a Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent).
• Have experience in a Residential Aged Care kitchen environment (ordering, budgeting and rostering)
• Proven experience cooking Asian cuisine (highly regarded)
• Baking and dessert experience (highly regarded) 
• Have worked with specialised diets, including supplements and texture modified foods
• Fully conversant with HACCP and food safety legislation
• Thrive in a team and also appreciate the one to one interactions
• Are committed to being part of a workplace culture based on the BEST way of life (Believe, Excel, Support and Trust)

Essentials for working in Aged Care:

• A current Working With Children Check card 
• Current and ongoing flu vaccinations
• Australian working rights
• Ability to pass a national police clearance and NDIS Clearance
