About the role:

We’re looking for a Casual Cleaner to join our caring team at Uniting AgeWell Wantirna. In this role, you’ll help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for residents by following hygiene and infection control standards. Weekday availability is essential, and you’ll play a vital part in ensuring the comfort, dignity, and wellbeing of older Australians. If you’re reliable, detail-focused, and passionate about making a difference, we’d love to hear from you!

You will: 

• Ensure that all areas of the residence are kept hygienic and presentable
• Contribute to a comfortable, welcoming environment for residents, staff and visitors
• Cleaning in line with all chemical and infection control requirements and accreditation standards
• Ensuring resident privacy and dignity is always maintained
• Identify and report maintenance issues for our residents, ensuring they are escalated in a timely manner

About you:

You are passionate about what you do and want to make a difference in the lives of our residents, you also:

• Demonstrate a high level of kindness and respect for residents’ property and privacy
• Have previous experience cleaning in a large organisation or commercial environment 
• Have sound knowledge of OH&S procedures, relevant chemicals and safe work practices 
• An understanding of infection control procedures
• Work effectively and efficiently with minimal supervision as required and as part of a team
• Thrive in a team and also appreciate the one to one interactions
• Are committed to being part of a workplace culture based on the BEST way of life (Believe, Excel, Support and Trust)

Essentials for working in Aged Care:

• A current Working With Children Check card (VIC) Employee card
• Current and ongoing flu vaccinations
• Australian working rights
• Ability to pass a national police clearance and NDIS Clearance
