About the role:
Are you passionate about creating nutritious, delicious meals that bring comfort and joy to others? Join our dedicated team at Uniting AgeWell in Camberwell as a Cook! This part-time role offers 25 hours per week, Monday to Friday from 12:00 pm to 5:30 pm, giving you the perfect balance between work and life.
You’ll play an important role in supporting the health and wellbeing of our residents by preparing high-quality meals in a warm and caring environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Planning, ordering, and preparing meals to enhance the customers’ dining experience, in line with all specialised diets, including supplements and texture-modified foods.
- Prepare and cook meals in line with dietary requirements and menu plans.
- Ensure food safety and hygiene standards are maintained at all times.
- Assist with menu planning and stock control.
- Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to deliver meals on time.
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment
About you:
You are passionate about what you do and want to make a difference in the lives of our residents, enhancing their self-esteem and empowering them to make choices

- Hold a Certificate III in Commercial Cookery
- Have experience in a commercial kitchen environment preferably Aged Care
- Have worked with specialised diets, including supplements and texture modified foods
- Friendly and respectful, show integrity and initiative, work at a fast pace
- Thrive in a team and also appreciate the one to one interactions
- Are committed to being part of a workplace culture based on the BEST way of life (Believe, Excel, Support and Trust)
Essentials for working in Aged Care:
- A current Working With Children Check card
- Current and ongoing flu vaccinations
- Australian working rights
- Ability to pass a national police clearance and NDIS Clearance
