About the role:

We are looking for an experienced Barista to join our friendly team in our small café at our aged care facility in Hawthorn, working Saturdays and Sundays from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about coffee and delivering warm, attentive service in a welcoming, community-focused environment, with barista experience essential to ensure consistent quality and a great experience for residents, visitors, and staff.
 
You will: 
  • Contribute to residents’ quality of life and their nutrition and hydration wellbeing through the provision of quality food services
  • Maintain routine and variable cleaning schedules for food preparation and service areas in accordance with Food Safety Program requirements
  • Be organised and service-focused, responding to resident needs by listening and communicating effectively
  • Escalate any concerns as needed while ensuring resident privacy and dignity are always maintained
  • Prepare and serve high-quality coffee and beverages
  • Provide warm, friendly service to residents, visitors, and staff
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the café area
  • Contribute to a positive, community-focused environment

About you:

  • Completion of a Basic Food Handlers Certificate (preferred)
  • Barista experience essential
  • Are known for your caring and compassionate nature

Essentials for working in Aged Care:

  • A current Working With Children Check card 
  • Current and ongoing flu vaccinations
  • Australian working rights
  • Ability to pass a national police clearance and NDIS Clearance
