About the role:

 
Join Uniting AgeWell as our Health, Safety & Wellbeing Business Partner for Tasmania and play a key role in creating safer, healthier workplaces across our residential, community and corporate services. This is a part-time opportunity working 60 hours per fortnight across any 4 days per week, offering flexibility while maintaining strong connection with the business. Supporting sites and services across the state, you'll partner with leaders, Health and Safety Representatives and frontline teams to strengthen safety culture, manage risk and drive continuous improvement. The role combines operational support, coaching, investigations, audits, training and project work to deliver practical safety outcomes. Regular travel throughout Tasmania is required, with occasional travel to Melbourne.
  • Partner with leaders and operational teams to provide expert workplace health, safety and wellbeing advice
  • Lead incident reviews and investigations, ensuring corrective actions reduce risk and strengthen safety outcomes
  • Deliver workplace audits, inspections and compliance activities across Tasmania
  • Support Health and Safety Representatives, Safety Committees and local leaders to build capability and accountability
  • Develop and facilitate safety training, education programs and wellbeing initiatives
  • Monitor safety performance, identify trends and provide practical recommendations for improvement
  • Contribute to organisation-wide safety projects, policy development and continuous improvement programs

This is the place for you if you have:

  • Proven experience delivering workplace health and safety outcomes in complex service environments
  • Strong capability managing incidents, investigations and risk reduction activities
  • Experience conducting audits, inspections and compliance reviews across multiple locations
  • Ability to build trusted relationships with leaders, frontline teams and key stakeholders
  • Demonstrated success delivering safety training, education and capability-building programs
  • Strong understanding of safety legislation, regulations and contemporary risk management practices
  • Confidence working independently while managing multiple priorities and competing deadlines
  • Experience in aged care, healthcare or community services environments will be highly regarded

Essentials for working in Aged Care:

  • A current Working With Vulnerable People Card or willingness to obtain one
  • Full Australian working rights
  • A current NDIS Clearance or be willing to undertake this process
  • Current flu and ongoing vaccinations
