At Uniting AgeWell, we’re dedicated to supporting older people to live safely, independently, and with dignity in their own homes for as long as possible. Our Loddon Mallee South Home Care program is expanding, and we’re looking for compassionate, reliable, and community-minded individuals to join our team in the roles of:
Home Care Worker
Home Care Domestic Support Worker
These roles offer meaningful work and the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of people across Bendigo and surrounding communities.
About the Role
Part-time positions available (minimum 10 hours per week)
Ideally available during the day on at least three weekdays
Travel between clients’ homes is required to deliver personalised care and support
Local work supporting clients in their own homes

Key Responsibilities
In both roles, you’ll support clients in their homes, with responsibilities tailored to individual needs.
This role may include:
Carrying out general household tasks such as vacuuming, mopping, laundry, and tidying
Preparing light meals and supporting safe food storage
Maintaining hygiene in kitchens, bathrooms, and shared spaces
Providing social support or transport to appointments and community activities
Monitoring clients’ wellbeing and reporting any concerns
Supporting clients in line with their individual preferences, cultural background, and values
Helping ensure the client’s home environment is clean, safe, and comfortable
This qualified role includes all of the responsibilities listed above, with the addition of:
Assisting with personal care tasks such as showering, grooming, and mobility support

What We’re Looking For
We’re seeking individuals who are passionate about supporting older people to live independently at home. A caring, empathetic nature is essential, along with a genuine commitment to building respectful relationships with clients and their families.
Successful candidates will have:
Excellent organisational skills and a focus on creating safe, clean, and supportive environments
A strong understanding of person-centred and community-based care
A commitment to delivering high-quality support that meets the needs of clients and their families
The ability to work well both independently and as part of a collaborative team

Mandatory Requirements
To be considered, you’ll need:
Qualifications:
Home Care Domestic Support: No formal qualification or prior experience required — a genuine dedication to supporting older people is what matters most.
Home Care Worker: Certificate III or IV in Individual Support (or higher, incl. nursing students)
Driver’s licence and a reliable, insured vehicle
Current First Aid & CPR certifications
Checks:
Working with Children Check (Employee)
National Police Check OR NDIS Worker Screening
Vaccinations: In line with Uniting AgeWell’s policy
