About the role:

Join our Home Care team servicing the following cities: Bayside, Glen Erira, Kingston, Port Phillip and Stonnington

Uniting Agewell supports ageing clients to enjoy a safe and independent life in their own homes for as long as they can. Our caring team provides a wide range of ageing support and services across local communitieswith Part-Time employment opportunities available, ranging from Monday-Friday during day time hours, you will be supporting clients in Brighton, Highett, Sandringham, Bentleigh, Carnegie, Caulfield, Mordialloc, Moorabbin, Aspendale, Armadale, Glen Iris, Malvern, Windsor and surrounding communities.

We are currently looking to grow our team with passionate and caring individuals in the following Part-Time role:

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Travel between client's homes 
  • Supporting clients with domestic tasks such as meal preparation and household chores
  • Providing social support and transportation services as required 
  • Providing personal care, including showering, grooming, and mobility assistance 
  • Ensure that client’s rights, cultural, spiritual and other individual needs are incorporated in all aspects of care and daily living 
  • Work within a multidisciplinary team, provide effective support to clients, recognise changes in clients’ conditions and escalate observations and concerns in accordance with Uniting AgeWell processes
  • Promote and participate in quality activities, and provide outstanding customer service maintaining friendly, supportive and professional relationships with clients, their relatives and friends
  • Support colleagues by sharing knowledge and expertise
  • Must have your own car (registered in your own name), valid insurance and a current Victorian driver's licence

About you:

You are passionate about what you do and want to make a difference in the lives of our ageing clients, enhancing their self-esteem and empowering them to make choices.

This is the place for you if you have:

  • Qualifications: Certificate III/IV or equivalent in Individual Support (Aged or Disability) or equivalent (or currently studying a Diploma in Nursing or Bachelor of Nursing)
  • First Aid & CPR: Current certifications or willingness to obtain.
  • Driver’s Licence: A valid Victorian licence and a roadworthy vehicle with comprehensive insurance.
  • Commitment to Person-Centred Care: Strong understanding of community care and a dedication to delivering high standards for clients and families.
  • Team Player: Thrives in a collaborative team environment while valuing one-on-one client connections.
  • Experience in a home care setting or providing domestics support is desirable
  • Understanding of client directed care
  • Are committed to being part of a workplace culture based on the BEST way of life (Believe, Excel, Support and Trust)

Essentials for working in Aged Care:

  • A current Working With Children Check card (Employee)
  • Current and ongoing flu vaccinations
  • Australian working rights
  • Ability to pass a national police clearance and NDIS Clearance
