About the role:

We are currently seeking a reliable and experienced Laundry Supervisor to lead our laundry operations in our well-established aged care facility. This is a full-time, hands-on leadership role where you will be responsible for managing all aspects of laundry services, ensuring timely turnaround, attention to detail, and strict adherence to hygiene and infection control standards for our residents.

As an Laundry Supervisor  you will provide quality laundry services for personal clothing that contribute to resident’s comfort, physical appearance and sense of self-esteem in accordance with the recommended processes for each garment and in compliance with the UA standards, Laundry Manual and Infection control

Tasks include: 

  • Supervise and coordinate all laundry operations, including collection, washing, drying, folding, and distribution of linens and residents' personal clothing.
  • Manage and support a team of laundry staff to ensure efficiency and quality standards are met.
  • Monitor laundry equipment to ensure safe and effective operation; report or coordinate repairs as necessary.
  • Maintain infection control standards and ensure compliance with aged care industry regulations.
  • Oversee stock levels of laundry supplies and manage inventory ordering.
  • Train new staff and provide ongoing coaching and support.
  • Ensure residents have the clean, fresh clothes and linen they enjoyed at home
  • You will make sure everything is labelled and stored correctly
  • Organised and keen to serve, you appreciate and respond to resident needs by listening and communicating well, whilst ensuring resident privacy and dignity is always maintained.

  • Proven experience in a commercial laundry setting is essential.
  • Previous supervisory or management experience is required.
  • Experience working in an aged care, healthcare, or similar environment is highly regarded.
  • Strong leadership, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Solid understanding of infection control and workplace health and safety.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
  • Are known for your caring and compassionate nature 
  • Have sound knowledge of OH&S procedures, relevant chemicals and safe work practices 
  • Work effectively and efficiently with minimal supervision to deliver consistent, resident-focused services
  • Thrive in a team and also appreciate the one to one interactions

Essentials for working in Aged Care:

  • A current Working With Children Check card
  • Australian working rights
  • Ability to pass a national police clearance and NDIS Clearance
