The newly completed Reservoir Wing heralds a new era in aged care, with intimate dining rooms, light-filled lounges, spacious bedroom suites, and seamless connections to the outdoors.

We are currently seeking passionate and caring individuals to join our Lifestyle Team as a Lifestyle Assistant on a permanent part-time basis.

Our fixed fortnightly roster offers the following shift pattern:

  • Wednesday/Thursday/Friday: 10:00 am – 5:00 pm
  • Saturday: 1:00 pm – 5:00 pm

About the Role

Working closely with the Lifestyle Coordinator, the Lifestyle Assistant plays a pivotal role in delivering varied and meaningful lifestyle programs that empower residents to live their BEST life. These programs foster connection, enjoyment, and purpose, enhancing the overall well-being of our residents.

As a Lifestyle Assistant in our facility, your responsibilities may include:

  • Assisting in the development, implementation, and delivery of engaging and therapeutic lifestyle programs that encourage resident participation and enjoyment.
  • Collaborating in assessments and ongoing reviews of residents’ cultural, recreational, and leisure needs to ensure programs remain relevant and personalised.
  • Promoting and supporting residents to actively engage in meaningful activities while maintaining a positive, enthusiastic, and passionate approach, keeping residents at the centre of all decisions.
  • Working with the Lifestyle Coordinator and Registered Nurse to contribute to the development and evaluation of individual care plans that reflect residents' unique preferences and goals.
  • Observing and responding to residents’ changing abilities and interests, ensuring a variety of activities and experiences are accessible to meet their evolving needs.
  • Encouraging social engagement and assisting with recreational and group activities.

What We’re Looking For

A caring and empathetic nature is essential, along with a genuine commitment to supporting residents to live with dignity, comfort, and purpose. You will build strong, meaningful relationships with residents and their families while contributing to a high-quality, person-centred care environment.

Our ideal candidate would have the following qualities and skills:

  • Experience in a Leisure and Lifestyle role and/or an Aged Care setting is highly regarded.
  • Studying or having completed a Lifestyle and Leisure or equivalent qualification.
  • A strong understanding of the person-centred approach in residential care, with dedication to delivering high standards for residents and their families.
  • Knowledge and understanding of behaviours, such as those associated with dementia, along with strategies for managing them in a positive, person-centred manner.
  • Energy and passion for enriching the lives of older Australians through fun, dynamic, and meaningful activities.
  • A warm and welcoming approach, with a focus on building genuine relationships and creating an engaging environment for residents.
  • A collaborative mindset, eager to be part of a supportive team in a growing and dynamic sector.
  • A deep commitment to seeing residents thrive and enjoy themselves in their daily lives.
  • The ability to drive a 10-seater bus is highly desirable to support outings and group excursions.
  • A dedication to being part of a workplace culture based on the BEST way of life (Believe, Excel, Support, and Trust).
