About the role:

As a People & Culture Business Partner, you'll support leaders across a diverse regional portfolio spanning Castlemaine through to Mildura, partnering with operational teams to build engaged, high-performing and compliant workplaces. This role can be based from our Bendigo office or Melbourne CBD office, with regular travel across the portfolio and between locations as required.

Reporting to a Senior Business Partner, you'll be part of a highly collaborative and supportive People & Culture team that values partnership, knowledge sharing and professional growth. While you will have ownership of your own portfolio and be empowered to work autonomously, you'll also benefit from the guidance, expertise and connection of an experienced team committed to achieving great outcomes together.

This is an exciting opportunity to join an organisation that is continuing to evolve and grow. Alongside your operational partnering responsibilities, you'll have opportunities to contribute to a broad range of strategic People & Culture projects, change initiatives and workforce programs that help shape the future of our organisation and employee experience.

With a clear structure that supports career development, mentoring and leadership exposure, this role offers a genuine pathway for growth within the People & Culture function.

You will play a key role in supporting leaders across Victoria and Tasmania to build engaged, high-performing and compliant workplaces. You'll partner with operational leaders on employee relations (ER) and industrial relations (IR), workforce challenges, organisational change, people strategy and projects. This is a hands-on role where you'll influence outcomes, navigate complex people matters and contribute to initiatives that strengthen both the employee and resident experience.

In this role, you will:

  • Partner with managers to provide practical advice across ER, performance, conduct and workplace matters
  • Lead and support investigations, grievance resolution and disciplinary processes in line with organisational processes, policy, values and industrial obligations
  • Provide expert guidance on enterprise agreements, awards and workforce legislation
  • Support organisational change initiatives, consultation processes and workforce transitions
  • Collaborate with leaders to identify workforce solutions that support operational performance and employee experience
  • Contribute to People & Culture projects, reporting, workforce insights and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Support strategic people initiatives across the organisation
  • Build strong relationships across operational and corporate teams while supporting a geographically diverse portfolio

This is the place for you if you have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in human resources and/or ER/IR or equivalent industry experience
  • Proven HR or People & Culture experience within a complex, multi-site environment
  • Strong employee and industrial relations capability with sound judgement and commercial thinking
  • Experience managing sensitive workplace matters from investigation through to resolution
  • Confidence interpreting enterprise agreements, awards and employment legislation
  • Experience supporting organisational change, consultation and workforce planning initiatives
  • Ability to influence and build credibility with leaders at all levels
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to navigate complex stakeholder environments
  • A proactive approach to delivering practical solutions and measurable outcomes

Essentials for working in Aged Care:

  • A current Working With Children’s Check (VIC) or willingness to obtain one
  • Full Australian working rights
  • A current Police Records Check/NDIS Clearance or be willing to undertake this process
  • Current flu and ongoing vaccinations
