About the role:

Join our Kingsville aged care team as a Weekend Chef and play a vital role in creating enjoyable dining experiences for our residents. Working Saturdays and Sundays from 9:00am to 5:00pm, you'll prepare nutritious, high-quality meals that support resident wellbeing and enhance daily life. This is a hands-on role where you'll oversee food preparation, maintain kitchen standards, and contribute to a welcoming dining environment. Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and deliver nutritious, high-quality meals in line with established menus and resident needs
  • Plan, order and manage food supplies to support efficient kitchen operations
  • Cater to specialised dietary requirements, including texture-modified meals and supplements
  • Maintain exceptional standards of food presentation, consistency and service delivery
  • Ensure compliance with food safety regulations, hygiene standards and HACCP requirements
  • Monitor stock levels, minimise waste and support effective inventory management
  • Collaborate with hospitality and care teams to enhance the overall resident dining experience
This is a Permanent Part Time opportunity working 15 hours per week across Saturdays and Sundays, 9:00am - 5:00pm.

About you:

This is the place for you if you have:

  • Hold a Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent).
  • Have experience in a Residential Aged Care kitchen environment (ordering, budgeting and rostering) 
  • Have worked with specialised diets, including supplements and texture modified foods
  • Fully conversant with HACCP and food safety legislation
  • Thrive in a team and also appreciate the one to one interactions
  • Are committed to being part of a workplace culture based on the BEST way of life (Believe, Excel, Support and Trust)

Essentials for working in Aged Care:

  • A current Working With Children Check card 
  • Current and ongoing flu vaccinations
  • Australian working rights
  • Ability to pass a national police clearance and NDIS Clearance
