About the role:

As a Cleaner at Uniting AgeWell, you’ll be responsible for maintaining a clean, hygienic, and safe environment that supports the health and wellbeing of our residents. Your daily duties will include cleaning resident rooms, bathrooms, communal areas, and staff facilities, managing waste disposal, and restocking supplies. You’ll follow strict infection control protocols and ensure all cleaning is carried out to the highest standards.

This is a full-time role, working Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 4:00pm, offering a stable routine and the opportunity to be part of a caring and supportive team that makes a real difference in the lives of older people.

You will: 

• Ensure that all areas of the residence are kept hygienic and presentable
• Contribute to a comfortable, welcoming environment for residents, staff and visitors
• Cleaning in line with all chemical and infection control requirements and accreditation standards
• Ensuring resident privacy and dignity is always maintained
• Identify and report maintenance issues for our residents, ensuring they are escalated in a timely manner

About you:

You are passionate about what you do and want to make a difference in the lives of our residents, you also:

• Demonstrate a high level of kindness and respect for residents’ property and privacy
• Have previous experience cleaning in a large organisation or commercial environment (preferred but not essential)
• Have sound knowledge of OH&S procedures, relevant chemicals and safe work practices (preferred but not essential)
• An understanding of infection control procedures
• Work effectively and efficiently with minimal supervision as required and as part of a team
• Thrive in a team and also appreciate the one to one interactions
• Are committed to being part of a workplace culture based on the BEST way of life (Believe, Excel, Support and Trust)

Essentials for working in Aged Care:

• A current Working With Children Check card
• Current and ongoing flu vaccinations
• Australian working rights
• Ability to pass a national police clearance and NDIS Clearance
