About the role:
We are seeking an experienced and hands‑on Cleaning Supervisor to join our team at our aged care facility in Box Hill. This is a part‑time role working Monday to Friday, 7:00am to 2:30pm (35 hours per week) ideal for someone who enjoys leading by example and working as part of the cleaning team.
Supervisory experience is essential, as this role is responsible for overseeing daily cleaning operations while remaining actively involved on the floor. Duties include conducting cleaning audits, ordering stock and supplies, ensuring infection control and hygiene standards are met, supporting and guiding staff, and maintaining a safe and clean environment for residents, visitors and staff.
Tasks include: You will
- Ensure all areas of the residence are maintained to a high standard of cleanliness, hygiene and presentation
- Lead and support the cleaning team, providing daily supervision and hands‑on assistance as required
- Conduct regular cleaning audits and quality checks to ensure compliance with internal standards and ACQSC requirements
- Ensure cleaning practices align with approved chemicals, infection control procedures and accreditation standards
- Maintain accurate records and documentation to support audits and accreditation processes
- Ensure resident privacy, dignity and respect are always upheld by yourself and the team
- Identify, report and follow up on maintenance, safety or environmental issues, escalating them in a timely manner
- Support a safe workplace by promoting and monitoring adherence to OH&S procedures
About you:
You are passionate about what you do and genuinely want to make a positive difference in the lives of our residents. You are a hands‑on leader who leads by example and supports your team to deliver high standards. You will also:
- Demonstrate a high level of kindness and respect for residents’ privacy, dignity and personal space
- Bring previous cleaning experience within a large organisation or commercial environment, with supervisory experience essential
- Have sound knowledge of OH&S requirements, infection control procedures, cleaning chemicals and safe work practices
- Confident conducting cleaning audits and ensuring compliance with quality and hygiene standards
- Manage ordering, stock control and equipment to ensure smooth daily operations
- Support, guide and motivate cleaning staff while also working alongside them
- Work effectively with minimal supervision and collaborate well as part of a wider team
- Thrive in a team environment while also valuing one‑to‑one interactions with residents and staff
