About the role:

As our Community Manager, you will play a key role in leading our Retirement Living community. In this role you will be responsible for the operational requirements of independent living communities within their portfolio to ensure a quality, customer-focused service across our Retirement Living communities in Southern Tasmania. This is a fixed-term opportunity until February 2027.
 
In this role, you will:
  • Serve as the first point of contact for all general enquiries, property management and apartment resales to achieve and maintain optimal occupancy, and foster a supportive, welcoming and engaging environment for residents and their guests
  • Ensure staff supervision is effective and in line with Uniting AgeWell policies, procedures and expectations
  • Ensure complaints and disputes are managed and resolved efficiently and effectively and in line with Uniting Age Well’s obligations.
  • Ensure budgets are maintained within their portfolio (Resident & Minor works Budgets)
  • Support and drive customer engagement and activation within communities

This is the place for you if you have:

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Retirement or housing related environment supervision or relevant industry experience (desirable)
  • Experience and expertise in relating to and managing a diverse range of people with a strong focus on customer service
  • Understanding of the financial aspects of apartments and housing
  • Excellent knowledge and experience in the Hotel environment/retirement village or residential aged care with a commitment to high standards of care for residents
  • Experience in relating to a diverse range of people
  • Willingness to be flexible in responding to requests and being the first point of contact for Residents, visitors and other Uniting AgeWell staff

Essentials for working in Aged Care:

  • A current Working With Vulnerable People's Card or willingness to obtain one
  • Full Australian working rights
  • A current Police Records Check/NDIS Clearance or be willing to undertake this process
  • Current flu and ongoing vaccinations as required
