About the role: Manningtree Retirement Village – Hawthorn
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Food Services Assistant (Barista) to join the café team at Manningtree Retirement Village in Hawthorn. This is a welcoming, community‑focused environment where you’ll enjoy building relationships with residents and their families while delivering quality coffee, light meals, and friendly service.
- Permanent part‑time position – 25 hours per week
- Monday to Friday, 10:00am – 3:00pm
- Preparing and serving barista‑style coffee, light meals, and refreshments
- Providing warm, courteous service to residents, families, and visitors
- Assisting with café presentation, cleanliness, and food safety
The village hosts monthly functions, with occasional shifts finishing around 8:00pm. Flexibility to support these events is essential.
Responsibilities:
- Contribute to resident’s quality of life and nutrition and hydration well-being through the provision of quality food services
- Maintain routine and variable cleaning schedules for food preparation and food service areas in accordance with the requirements of the Food Safety Program
- You will be organised and keen to serve, you appreciate and respond to resident needs by listening and communicating well, escalating any concerns as needed, whilst ensuring resident privacy and dignity is always maintained

- Completion of a Basic Food Handlers Certificate (preferred)
- Barista experience essential
- Are known for your caring and compassionate nature

Essentials for working in Aged Care:
- A current Working With Children Check card
- Current and ongoing flu vaccinations
