About the role:
Join Uniting AgeWell as Hotel Services Director, Tasmania and lead the delivery of catering, cleaning, laundry and related hospitality services across residential aged care operations. You will set a clear service direction while keeping day-to-day delivery safe, consistent, financially sustainable and focused on what matters to residents. Working with operational leaders and specialist teams, you will improve service quality, strengthen workforce capability and respond to changing resident expectations. This is an opportunity to shape services that directly influence residents’ dignity, wellbeing and experience of home.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the Hotel Services strategy, translating organisational priorities into consistent practices and measurable service outcomes
- Oversee catering, cleaning, laundry and associated functions across a complex, multi-site aged care environment
- Manage budgets, monthly performance, workforce rosters, purchasing, assets and equipment, taking timely action where results are off track
- Improve the resident experience by using feedback, surveys and complaints to identify themes and deliver meaningful changes
- Maintain strong food safety, work health and safety, quality and regulatory controls, including readiness for audits and accreditation
- Build the capability and accountability of Hotel Services Coordinators, administrators and site-based teams through clear expectations, coaching and development
- Partner with residential leaders, People and Culture, Finance, Quality, Infrastructure, procurement teams, suppliers and contractors to resolve issues and lift performance
What You'll bring
- Significant leadership experience across catering, cleaning, laundry or comparable hotel services within aged care
- Evidence of improving service consistency, resident satisfaction or operational performance across multiple locations
- Strong financial capability, including budget preparation, variance analysis, roster control and corrective action
- Experience managing suppliers, contractors, purchasing arrangements and service contracts to achieve quality and value
- Working knowledge of aged care requirements, food safety programs, workplace safety and audit preparation
- A record of using resident feedback, service data and quality findings to implement sustainable improvements
- The ability to lead dispersed teams through clear accountability, effective delegation, coaching and capability development
- Relevant hospitality or hotel services qualifications are preferred, together with the capacity to travel as the role requires
