About the role:

We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Laundry Assistant to join our team at Box Hill on a part-time basis. In this role, you will play an important part in ensuring residents’ clothing and linen are cleaned and cared for to the highest standards, supporting their comfort and dignity.

As a Laundry Assistant, you will deliver high-quality laundry services for residents’ personal clothing, ensuring each garment is cared for according to recommended processes. Your work will contribute to residents’ comfort, appearance, and sense of dignity, while maintaining strict compliance with UA standards, the Laundry Manual, and infection control procedures.

Part time roster: 

  • Wednesday: 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM
  • Thursday: 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM
  • Friday: 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM

Tasks include: 

  • Provide laundry services for residents’ personal clothing and facility linen.
  • Follow recommended processes for each garment type.
  • Ensure compliance with UA standards, Laundry Manual, and infection control guidelines.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
  • Ensure residents have the clean, fresh clothes and linen they enjoyed at home
  • You will make sure everything is labelled and stored correctly
  • If you find a maintenance issue, you will flag or fix it.
  • Organised and keen to serve, you appreciate and respond to resident needs by listening and communicating well, whilst ensuring resident privacy and dignity is always maintained.

  • Previous experience in laundry services, preferably in aged care or healthcare settings.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to hygiene standards.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Reliable, punctual, and adaptable to changing priorities.
  • Are known for your caring and compassionate nature 
  • Have sound knowledge of OH&S procedures, relevant chemicals and safe work practices 
  • Work effectively and efficiently with minimal supervision to deliver consistent, resident-focused services
  • Thrive in a team and also appreciate the one to one interactions

Essentials for working in Aged Care:

  • A current Working With Children Check card 
  • Current and ongoing flu vaccinations
  • Australian working rights
  • Ability to pass a national police clearance and NDIS Clearance
