About the role:

Are you a passionate Chef looking for flexibility, variety, and meaningful work? Join Uniting AgeWell as a Casual Multi-Site Chef and bring your culinary expertise to our aged care communities across Preston, Hawthorn, Camberwell, Box Hill, Forest Hill, and Wantirna.
 
Working across multiple locations, you'll have the opportunity to create nutritious, high-quality meals that make a genuine difference in the lives of older people, while enjoying the support of a collaborative team and a positive workplace culture.

In this role, you will:
  • Plan, order, and prepare nutritious, high-quality meals that enhance residents' dining experiences.
  • Cater to specialised dietary requirements, including texture-modified diets, fortified meals, and nutritional supplements.
  • Maintain exceptional food presentation and quality standards.
  • Ensure a high level of compliance with food safety regulations, HACCP procedures, and infection prevention requirements.
  • Monitor stock levels, manage ordering, and minimise food waste.
  • Collaborate with care and hospitality teams to deliver an outstanding dining experience for residents.
  • Support kitchen operations and maintain a clean, safe, and organised work environment.

About you:

This is the place for you if you have:

  • Hold a Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent).
  • Have experience in a Residential Aged Care kitchen environment (ordering, budgeting and rostering) 
  • Have worked with specialised diets, including supplements and texture modified foods
  • Fully conversant with HACCP and food safety legislation
  • Thrive in a team and also appreciate the one to one interactions
  • Are committed to being part of a workplace culture based on the BEST way of life (Believe, Excel, Support and Trust)

Essentials for working in Aged Care:

  • A current Working With Children Check card 
  • Current and ongoing flu vaccinations
  • Australian working rights
  • Ability to pass a national police clearance and NDIS Clearance
