About the role:
 
The RAP Coordinator role directly supports Uniting AgeWell’s mission and values and the UCA/UAICC Covenant. The role will advance the organization’s commitment to fostering an inclusive, welcoming, culturally safe and supportive environment for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities through the following pillars:
  • Procurement Practices – Embedding respectful reconciliation principles in supplier engagement and portfolio wide procurement
  • Employment Representation – Increasing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander representation and opportunities within Uniting AgeWell’s workforce
  • Knowledge Capability – Building cultural awareness and competency across all levels of the organization

This is a fixed term, full time role working Monday to Friday for a period of 12 months reporting directly to the Director of Mission. The role will have a hybrid working model with your primary base being Wesley Place Corporate Head Office.

  • Demonstrated understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, histories, and contemporary issues
  • Ability to foster culturally safe environments and embed reconciliation principles in practice
  • Skilled in building trust and partnerships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, suppliers, and internal teams
  • Proven ability to design and implement strategies that increase Indigenous representation in the workforce
  • Familiarity with inclusive recruitment practices and workforce planning principles
  • Understanding of aged care compliance, service delivery models, and workforce challenges
  • Awareness of cultural considerations in care settings
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for reporting, presenting, and educating staff
  • Ability to influence and advocate for reconciliation within a large organisation
  • Commitment to Uniting AgeWell’s mission, values, and the UCA/UAICC Covenant
