About the role:
The Director of Procurement is responsible for leading and strengthening Uniting AgeWell’s procurement function, ensuring it delivers value, consistency and strong governance across the organisation. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, this role leads the development and delivery of procurement strategy, translating organisational priorities into practical, fit-for-purpose approaches that support both operational performance and customer outcomes.
Working closely with operational and corporate leaders, you will provide trusted commercial advice, balancing cost, quality and risk while supporting frontline service delivery. You will also lead the ongoing improvement of procurement systems, processes and frameworks, ensuring they remain contemporary and scalable as the organisation continues to grow.
- Lead and deliver procurement strategy aligned to organisational and operational needs
- Establish and maintain procurement governance, policies and frameworks
- Drive category management and deliver measurable value across spend areas
- Lead supplier negotiations, contracts and ongoing performance management
- Build and lead a capable, high-performing procurement team
- Provide commercial insight and advice to senior stakeholders
This is a full time, permanent role working Monday to Friday based out of a Corporate Head Office in Melbourne CBD.
What you'll bring:
- Proven experience leading procurement or category functions in complex organisations
- Demonstrated delivery of measurable value, including cost savings and supplier performance uplift
- Experience working across large, multi-category spend portfolios, ideally $50M+
- Strong capability in developing and embedding procurement processes, governance and ways of working
- Confident stakeholder partner, able to influence and challenge across operations and corporate teams
- Track record of leading and developing teams to deliver consistent outcomes
- Strong commercial judgement with hands-on experience in negotiations and contract management
