About the role:

The Facilities Services Manager in Retirement, plans and coordinates the provision of facility maintenance services including strategic (planned) maintenance across all Uniting AgeWell Retirement Communities and Home Care Office locations to ensure the communities are maintained to a high standard and are refurbished to meet the requires of future residents. 

In this role, you will:

  • Coordinate facility maintenance functions
  • Be responsible for the supervision of Repair & Maintenance functions of facilities in all Regions of Victoria and Tasmania, including minor project works and after-hours call-outs
  • Be responsible for the design scope of unit refurbishment with the RV portfolio and management of contractors
  • Manage facilities services budget for Victorian and Tasmanian Region’s facilities
  • Regularly review performance with budget and make necessary adjustments to maintain budget limits
  • Understand the vital role of facility services members of the group and work positively to achieve team outcomes and deadlines
  • Full time role supporting our Retirement Living units across Victoria and Tasmania

This is the place for you if you have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in a discipline such as mechanical or electrical engineering or building facility operation and maintenance
  • Demonstrated understanding of relevant legislation and regulations
  • Experience in delivery asset management services within retirement living sectors or customer-centric operations-based role
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work within and create a harmonious team approach to the delivery of services into a resident home and the common areas within a community.
  • A practical knowledge of maintenance principles and ability to apply these safely and effectively
  • Highly developed negotiation and stakeholder management skills, with proven capacity to function effectively in a complex environment
  • Ability to liaise with Maintenance Contractors and Suppliers

Essentials for working in Aged Care:

  • A current Working With Children’s Check (VIC) or willingness to obtain one
  • Full Australian working rights
  • A current Police Records Check/NDIS Clearance or be willing to undertake this process
  • Current flu and ongoing vaccinations as required
